Tiffany Hurst was a key component on one of the most successful women’s soccer teams in school history. (Stan Lui)

‘Aztec For Life’ Tiffany Hurst, one of the stars on last season’s magical women’s soccer team, was signed to the Western New York Flash preseason roster on Saturday.

After winning the Women’s Premier Soccer League Elite championship last year, the Flash will compete in the National Women’s Soccer League in 2013. Hurst will join a roster that includes U.S. Women’s National Team players Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd.

Malcolm Thomas was signed to a 10-day contract on Friday.

Malcolm Thomas was signed to a 10-day contract on Friday.

According to ESPN analyst Marc Stein, the Golden State Warriors have signed ‘Aztec For Life’ Malcolm Thomas to a 10-day contract.

This is great news for Thomas, who recently joined the NBA D-League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders after spending time playing overseas in Israel.

Congratulations to Malcolm.

Congratulations to senior pitcher  and ‘Aztec For Life’ Kristin May for being named the MW Player of the Week!

May had a hit in all four of San Diego State’s games last week. The Aztecs went 2-2, and in the four games, May was 7-12 with six RBIs, three doubles and one run.

SDSU is now 10-9 and will take the field on Thursday against Iowa State in the Fresno State Classic tournament.
