The 11th in a daily series of Q&A’s with the 2012 signing class.
Alex Barrett is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive end from Mesa, Arizona. He comes to San Diego State after a very successful career at Desert Ridge High School, where he started on both the offensive and defensive line. Barrett was a two-time first-team all-state selection, and he was named to the all-Arizona Super 25 his senior year.
Barrett joins a young defensive line unit that lost three senior starters last year. He is one of four defensive lineman in the 2012 signing class. Although Barrett played both defensive tackle and defensive end in high school, he will likely play end at SDSU. He will wear No. 58 for the Aztecs.
